Ithaca is close to reaching the top in Relocate America's 2011 survey of the nation's top places to live. Citing the area's natural beauty, laid-back style, educational expertise, and strong high-tech and tourism industries, the organization has also placed the city on its nomination shortlist for the Top 10 places to live in the United States. Residents, businesses, and tourists alike can now vote for America's Top 10 at [[link|url=http://www.relocateamerica.com/top-100-cities/]]http://www.relocateamerica.com/top-100-cities/[[end-link]]. Voting will close on July 31st. The winners will be announced on August 2, 2011. Criteria for Relocate America's annual list include data on the economic, employment, housing, education, industry, opportunity, environment and recreation sectors along with feedback from area leaders & residents. Ithaca joins the top 100 list as one of just three communities from the state of New York.
