WVBR's now officially broadcasting out of our new home at 604 East Buffalo Street.
Happy St. Patrick's Day and Holi from our new station at 604 East Buffalo Street. This past weekend VBR, Voice of the Big Red, moved out of its old home the "Cow Palace" up on East Hill Plaza, which had broadcast VBR's playlist of real rock for the past fourteen years, and into Olbermann-Corneliess Studios. As the name suggests, Cornell alum Keith Olbermann played a large role in making the move happen. The station is named in memory of his father Theodore Olbermann and former WVBR program director Glenn Corneliess who was a classmate and close friend of Olbermann's. Outgoing General Manager Drew Endick praised the new facilities, saying "It has the amenities of any major corporate radio station, but it has the appeal, space and ability to innovate that any college radio station has. It’s the best college radio in the country." Olbermann-Corneliess Studios, which was also funded by VBR alumni and students, has two production studios, a live performance space, and is also the home base of CornellRadio.com which officially re-launched this past week bringing new student-generated content to the Cornell community.
