Tompkins County Sheriff’s “Sundae Sunday”

Tompkins County Sheriff's Office

Tompkins County, NY - The Tompkins County Sheriff's Office will be holding three Sheriff’s “Sundae Sunday” events on July 28th, August 18th, and August 25th between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM. These events are generously being hosted by the Ithaca Bakery at 2255 North Triphammer Road, Ithaca, NY.

These events are designed to build a trust-based foundation with the youth of Tompkins County. We are reaching out to families of children ages 6-12 years old that might be interested in learning about law enforcement and what it means in their community.

“One day I was sitting with my youngest daughter eating ice cream, and I thought about how nice it was to just be able to sit and talk to her, how seamless and comfortable it was. My thought right after that was, I wish it was this seamless for other kids. After that, I thought “well why can’t it be this seamless?”, and then it just stuck with me from that point on. I want kids to feel like they can be comfortable with law enforcement; as easy as just sitting and eating ice cream.” says Sheriff Osborne.

We are asking interested families to reserve their spot by the Thursday before each event (7/25, 8/15, 8/22) by calling 607-257-1345 ext. 4456.
