Talk of the Town: Cherry Artspace Hosts 2nd Annual Ithaca Crankie Cabaret

A "crankie" is an old art form from the 19th century that combines visuals, storytelling, live music, puppet theatre, and more. In 2018, puppeteer Lily Gershon brought it back to Ithaca for the very first time. This year’s Crankie Cabaret, which happened from November 8th to 11th at the Cherry Artspace, featured a completely new and unique program. WVBR’s Florenz Gilly was there to see it and thinks that it was an entertaining yet instructive, stimulating and moving show well worth seeing: a Broadway theater equal in every way.

Originally aired on Talk of the Town --- Saturdays at 5pm
