Professional Bull Riders Buck Into Syracuse on September 20-21

Syracuse Showdown anticipated to feature riders from three nations, Australia, Brazil, and United States, with American contingent set to be headlined by top-ranked rider Bryan Titman WHAT: For the first time since 2008, the top bull riders from around the world will invade Syracuse as the “toughest sport on dirt” comes to the The Oncenter War Memorial Arena on September 20-21 with the PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour’s Syracuse Showdown. The fearless riders of the PBR are eager to bring the only sport that pits a lightweight against a heavyweight in epic 8-second confrontations back to Syracuse. PBR personnel and spokespeople are available on the phone at any point, and in the greater Syracuse area starting Thursday, September 19. WHO: In a true showdown between man and beast, fans will watch as all entered riders attempt one bull each in Round 1 on Friday night, and Round 2 on Saturday night. The Top 10 riders will then advance to the championship round on Saturday where they will attempt one final bull, all in an effort to be crowned the event champion, earning 170 world points and their portion of the $20,000 purse. The internationally diverse field of riders will feature competitors from three nations: Australia, Brazil and the United States. The Australian contingent will include Global Cup competitor Nathan Burtenshaw (Coonamble, New South Wales) in addition to Lachlan Slade (Warwick, Queensland), while the field of Brazilians is highlighted by former elite tour regular Ramon de Lima (Rio Branco, Brazil). The draw will also include top-ranked cowboy Bryan Titman (East Bernard, Texas) who thus far in 2019 has recorded nine Top-10 finishes, including two third-place efforts on the Velocity Tour in Santa Maria and Bakersfield, California. Ranked No. 58 in the broader PBR World Standings, Titman is currently No. 8 in the Velocity Tour standings as he seeks his first Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour Championship.
