Lotoya Francis is from Brooklyn, New York and is a sophomore in the ILR School at Cornell University. With her Industrial and Labor Relations degree, she hopes to pursue a career in media and communications and eventually assume Oprah Winfrey’s job using media, service, and entrepreneurship as a tool to unify people. She plans on using “Politics on the First Date” as a tool to invite people in our generation to embrace political discourse. She believes that our politics are inevitably linked to our identities so why not talk politics on the first date? Destigmatizing political discourse will be critical for our generation to create the kind of change the world needs.
