ITHACA—Tompkins County Public Library (TCPL) has initiated a survey intended to identify how community members use TCPL. The Library has invested in expanded programming and has recently adopted new practices, including a fine free policy. The survey is intended to identify issues associated with use or access to the Library and its resources, to inform an updated strategic plan, and to direct future resources. “The Library isn’t just a place to borrow books from anymore,” said Annette Birdsall, TCPL Director. “It’s a community space that offers opportunities to access information using the latest technologies, and we want it to be welcoming to Tompkins County residents and visitors alike.” Community members can take the survey at www.surveymonkey.com/r/TCPLsurvey. The survey will also be distributed online and through various participating agencies and organizations throughout Tompkins County, including the Farmer’s Market at Dewitt Park on Tuesday, August 27 and at GIAC on Tuesday, September 17. For more information, visit www.tcpl.org. Additional questions should be directed to Annette Birdsall, Director, Tompkins County Public Library,abirdsall@tcpl.org.
