- After an historic weekend for the Cornell Women's hockey team, as they swept Harvard and Dartmouth for the first time ever, the Red have moved into the top 10 of the USCHO.com Women's Division 1 Poll, as they are ranked number 10. Meanwhile, Sophomore goalie Amanda Mazzotta was recognized as ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the week for her efforts over the weekend, which included a shutout of Dartmouth. The team hits the road this coming weekend with games against Union and RPI.
- The Men's Hockey team remained in the top 10 of the USCHO.com poll after their season-opening victory over Niagara on Friday Night. The Big Red are now number five in the country, up a spot from last week. Cornell opens league play at home this coming weekend with ECAC tilts Friday Night against Dartmouth and Saturday Night against Harvard.
- Former Cornell Lacrosse standouts Max Seibald and Ryan McClay have been named to the 2010 U.S. Men's Lacrosse National Team. McClay, who was named Ivy League Player of the year during his senior season in 2003, currently plays for the Boston Cannons of the MLL. Seibald, who graduated earlier this year, helped lead Cornell to the National Championship game this spring and is Red's highest-scoring midfielder of all time. Seibald was the second overall pick of this year's MLL draft, and in his first season was named an All Star. This edition of the U.S. National Team will begin play early in 2010.
