Halloween Edition!

Alright, I lied. There's nothing Halloween related about the power rankings this week besides the date.

Rank

Team

Change

Record

Reasoning

1

Falcons

+1

7-0

The Falcons trounced the Eagles and have a pretty easy schedule for the remainder of the year. I don’t see them being beaten anytime soon.

2

Texans

-1

6-1

The Texans will be well-rested after their bye week, when they face off against one of the worst defenses in the league – The Bills.

3

49ers

+1

6-2

The 49ers head into their bye week with a strong win against the Cardinals, which puts them 2 games ahead of second place in NFC West.

4

Giants

-1

6-2

After starting out up by 23, the Giants let up 24 straight points and almost lost at the last second. It seems like the Giants want to give their fans heart attacks every week.

5

Bears

--

6-1

This was a close win against the 1-6 Panthers. As usual, the Bears defense struggled to click, but they managed to pull it together in the 4th quarter for a win.

6

Patriots

+1

5-3

A complete domination over the Rams in London last week. Not many teams can put up 45 straight points.

7

Packers

-1

5-3

The Packers should not have let the Jaguars get this close to a win, but a win is a win.

8

Broncos

+2

4-3

The Broncos seem to be getting better every single game. Manning is still elite and the defense managed to hold an explosive Saints offense to just 14 points.

9

Steelers

+3

4-3

Dwyer is filling in very nicely as a starting running back. Steelers looked strong on all front in their dominant win over the Redskins.

10

Ravens

-2

5-2

If the Ravens change their play calling, this next game against the Browns should be an easy win. If not, then it’ll be a tossup in my mind.

11

Vikings

-2

5-3

With some of the best weapons in the league, the Vikings offense should be doing much better than they did against the Bucs.

12

Seahawks

-1

4-4

It seems like the Seahawks are just terrible on the road as their away record went to 1-4 in a close loss to the Lions.

13

Dolphins

+6

4-3

Things are looking up for the Dolphins after they demolished the Jets at MetLife Stadium.

14

Redskins

--

3-5

10 dropped passes is simply inexcusable. No team is going to do well with that many mistakes.

15

Cardinals

-2

4-4

The Cardinals put up a measly 3 points against the 49ers Monday night. Their season will go down the drain without a reliable O-line, quarterback, and running game.

16

Cowboys

-1

3-4

The Cowboys almost came out with a win against the Giants on Sunday, but 6 turnovers makes it pretty damn hard to win.

17

Bengals

-1

3-4

Bye week came at a much needed time for the Bengals because they’ll need all the rest they can get before facing a powerful Broncos squad.

18

Buccaneers

+4

3-4

The Bucs are flying high as they kept complete control during their win against the Vikings. An improving offense gets to face off against a bad Raiders defense next.

19

Lions

+1

3-4

Matt Stafford looks like he’s returning to 2011 form;  the Lions offense finally looks like it has more weapons than Megatron .

20

Eagles

-2

3-4

Add the Eagles to the list of teams with underutilized, elite running backs. The coaching in Philly needs a desperate change as fans call for Andy Reid’s head.

21

Colts

+4

4-3

An exciting win for the Colts in overtime.  Next week, they face off against another team who is on the rise: The Dolphins.

22

Chargers

-5

3-4

The Chargers are in free fall. It looks like the team is just giving up, and the management of what should at least be a decent team is absolutely horrible.

23

Saints

-2

2-5

The Saints have no defense. If the offense can only put up 14 points, games are going to get real ugly.

24

Rams

--

3-5

After scoring a touchdown on the opening drive, the Rams failed to do anything at all for the rest of the game.

25

Jets

-2

3-5

After being embarrassed by the Dolphins at home, the Jets look to get some rest before a tough away game against the Seahawks.

26

Raiders

+3

3-4

Carson Palmer is doing his best to make something out of this team, and it looks like it’s finally starting to work.

27

Bills

--

3-4

The Bills had some rest during their bye week but have an extremely difficult matchup against the Texans this week.

28

Titans

-2

3-5

The Titans defense played better than usual for most of the game but collapsed at the end of an OT loss to the Colts.

29

Browns

+1

2-6

The Browns are probably the strongest 2-6 team I’ve seen, but they didn’t show their strength very well against the Chargers on Sunday.

30

Panthers

-2

1-6

Close loss against the Bears. The Panthers need to have some major coaching changes if they want to start winning.

31

Jaguars

+1

1-6

No one was really expecting anything out of the Jags, but they held Green Bay to only 24 points while putting up 15 themselves.

32

Chiefs

-1

1-6

You’re going to lose horribly if your quarterbacks are Cassel and Quinn, and your top 10 running back gets 5 carries on the day. No other way around it.

As always, let me know what you think!
