The Struggles of a Miami Heat Fan
Being a devout Heat fan, I can personally say, has not been easy the past few weeks. The abysmal playing of their bench was one of the main causes for their five game skid before defeating the defending champion Lakers in Miami last Thursday night. The Heat, now on a three game win streak, plays Kevin Durant and the Thunder in Miami on Wednesday night.
A few weeks after a complete beat down by the San Antonio Spurs, the Miami Heat were able to get their revenge in a 110-80 win at home. The big three for Miami, it seems, finally remembered how to shoot free throws, as they were 100% from the line. Mario Chalmers, who went 1-2 from the line, was the only Heat player to miss a foul shot. Chris Bosh had a 30 point double-double while Wade scored 29. The Spurs shot a measly 38% from the field in one of their lowest scoring games of the season.
One of the recent main concerns for the Heat has been their bench scoring. During their five game losing streak, their bench was outscored by over 100 points. Of course, people started to blame coach Eric Spoelstra for the team’s troubles. This should sound very familiar to Heat fans as the same thing happened early in the season when they got off to a shaky start. To all the criticism the Heat has received this season, all I can say is, “We’ll see you in the playoffs, Celtics fans”.
