Cornell Lacrosse moves on to Final Four
The Cornell Men's Lacrosse team has advanced to the Final Four for the third time in four years thanks to a 14-5 thrashing of Army earlier today. The Big Red will face Notre Dame at 4 PM Saturday in one National Semifinal. The Fighting Irish, who are unseeded, upset number three Maryland on Saturday. This may be a break for the Red on paper as they face an unseeded team for the third straight week. However, the Fighting Irish present a tough matchup as they have a solid midfield and are efficient at maintaining possession. Cornell will have to also work on their faceoffs, as they have won well under 50% of draws in their two NCAA Tournament victories. Of course the Red also must maintain a large lead if they get one, like they were able to do against Army. If Cornell wins they would advance to the National Championship game for the second consecutive year, and would face the winner of Virginia vs. Duke.
