The community of Dryden is proposing a reconstruction of all Dryden school buildings.
Areas around the middle and high schools are also going to be repaved. The public will be able to vote on this $3.5 million dollar project come December 12. The state of New York requires a facilities’ condition survey every five years in an attempt to keep the buildings in optimal form. Since all buildings were inspected last year, it was decided to move the project into fruition this year. The cost of the first reconstruction is $1,855,000 to repair all school buildings as well as the maintenance building. Most of this funding comes from state aid. In addition, this proposition includes sanitation enhancements, roof restoration, window replacements, and several other maintenance advancements to improve the quality of the buildings.
