Throughout August, Bolton Point will perform annual water main flushing of the Town of Ithaca’s water mains that will affect South Hillm Slaterville Road/East Hill, and Eastern Heights. The annual flushing event is meant to maintain fresh water in all areas of the water distribution system. Flushing might cause temporary water discoloration due to rust inside the water mains. The water is safe to drink but can stain laundry. Ithaca residents should check the water before doing laundry and wait until the water clears if necessary.
