Cornell University Informs Students About H1N1 Influenza Vaccine
Yesterday, Cornell University sent an e-mail out to students informing them that the H1N1 influenza vaccine had arrived on Friday. There are currently only 1600 doses available, and, following CDC guidelines, Cornell is only able to offer vaccines to students who are at the greatest risk of complications from the flu.
These individuals, they state, include, “those with underlying health conditions, those who are pregnant, and/or those who care for infants under 6 months old.” The university suggests that these students call Gannett this week to schedule an appointment. The Gannett phone number is (607 255-5155).
The H1N1 influenza vaccine is expected to become more widely available in the coming weeks, and at that point will be accessible to all members of the Cornell community.
