The Tompkins County Sheriffís Department is investigating some back to back accidents that hospitalized both a police officer and a pedestrian late last Friday. According to a report by the sheriffís office, a student from Ithaca college had been found injured on the side of route 96 after falling behind from a group of his peers. At around 11:45 PM, when the case was being investigated, a police officer was struck by another oncoming car. Both were airlifted to hospitals.
