Lucciano Pavarotti had died
from pancreatic cancer. He was 71.
Often called the King
of the high Cís, Pavarotti was one of the most prominent opera
singers of the 20th century. Pavarotti's signatures were not only
his charismatic persona and his showmanship, but his rich and
powerful voice that made him the most beloved and celebrated tenor
in history and one of the few opera singers to win crossover fame
as a popular superstar.
Pavarotti visited Cornell
University on February 13th 1977 where he performed in Bailey
hall. WVBR could not find anyone who actually saw Pavarotti
perform, but if you have, WVBR news would like to hear your
