Cornell aims to keep free TCAT bus passes for new students
It appears that Cornell University will in fact have free buses for new students. Following a discussion on Friday when students met with President Skorton outside Day Hall, it was confirmed that Skorton is eager to find a way to keep free TCAT passes for new students. The student group had organized a Facebook page as well as attended various meetings and organized protests. Cornell approved a resolution for free bus passes for new students on April 22nd and even thought the TCAT is struggling financially, Patty Poist, the Tompkins Area Transit spokeswoman agrees that the free bus passes are a great way to introduce students to the transportation system.
