In a recent Ithaca Common Council meeting, an 8-1 vote (with one member missing) verified $2 million additional dollars to be allotted for the current Commons Budget Project.
The project, conjointly done with Vacri Construction of Binghamton, is now preparing to enter its next phase of construction, requiring more funds for renovations and reconstruction. Mayor Myrick has stated that city government will cover any additional project expenditures through bonds.
Pending any possible budget complications or problems, officials have said that the project has prepared its own potential deductions from the endeavor. So far the list has included the fountain feature, granite pavers, two gateways, the playground as well as the Bernie Milton Pavilion.
