Robert Cutting, the owner of Cutting Motors, died yesterday while water skiing with family on Cayuga Lake. He was 49. Witnesses say Cutting crossed over his boat's wake and fell face first into the water. When he resurfaced, he was unconscious. Bangs Ambulance and Tompkins County Sheriff's Office personnel responded to the accident. Cutting was pronounced dead at Cayuga Medical Center at about 9:00PM, an hour and a half after the accident. The cause of death is still being investigated, and an autopsy is scheduled.
