High Noon and Proof of Paradise for September 18th, 2012.
High Noon
Foo Fighters's Walk vs. Red Hot Chili Peppers's Look Around
Two very modern and amazing songs. Both are noted for being the best rock songs of their time, which is very recent, as both were released in 2011. Both of these songs come from experiences by band members. In Walk, Dave Grohl got some of his lyrics from teaching his daughter how to walk and then witnessing her walk by herself. Look Around is based off the social interpretation of the world. In the music video, each band member is in his own room, which reflects each band member's social interactions with his immediate surroundings. Both of these songs come from personal experiences then, making the mood and style of the music that much stronger. In the end, though, Foo Fighters wins out. The connection between father and daughter is something that can't be easily described through words, yet Dave Grohl does a fantastic job at doing so. In addition, the placement of the song in it's album, Wasting Light, is perfect. It closes the album with a slower, yet powerful piece.

Proof of Paradise
Who: Multiple Libyan protesters
Where: US Embassy in Libya
What: Several Libyan protesters found Ambassador Stevens unconscious in a room filled with smoke and worked together to get him medical attention. An amateur video recorded everything that happened. This proves that, even amid chaos, goodness will always find a way to shine through.
