The Ballad of Foot-Foot

At WVBR it is our Sacred Duty to bring you the best music we possibly can. In honor of this noble ideal, I'd like to take this time to introduce you to The Shaggs. This is a band you may not have heard before. In fact, you may not even have ever heard of them at all. But this is a band that Frank Zappa once named the third best band of all time, and rated them "better than the Beatles." This band is The Shaggs. Take a listen. How about that. There is a sort of sad story behind the aimless drumming and the strumming on every syllable. The band consisted of Dot, Betty, and Helen Wiggin, a trio of New Hampshire sisters. The band formed thanks to their father's insistence: he had been told by a palm reader that his daughters would become musical stars and was determined to make it happen. He took his daughters out of school, bought them instruments, paid for their lessons and their recording time, and even named the band himself. The band disbanded after their father's death, having never made it to the big time. Their only studio album, Philosophy of the World, remains as a tribute to this unusual and one of a kind band. where did Foot Foot go what will Foot Foot do oh Foot Foot I wish I could FIND you Follow me on [[link|url=http://twitter.com/jgasper19]] Twitter [[end-link]] if you feel like it.
