Of course none of these bands really FORMED in 2009, but these are the bands that really hit began hitting it big 2009 (most released their debut album in 2009, e.g., Them Crooked Vultures). Cage is GREAT but technically, they're 2008. Julian has been with the strokes but his solo work just started. Similar story for Chester - Linkin Park has been around, but his side project is new. I agree that Manchester Orchestra, White Rabbits, and many other bands are worthy of note, but one has to limit the selection somewhere. And if you don't know Cavo, you need to listen to the radio more (hint hint). I'll get around to explaining these choices one of these days...

SHWAX!
First, TCV, MOF, and Julian are not new artists. Chester Bennington is ALSO not a new artist.
Second, Who is CAVO?
Third, what about The xx, Spinnerette, White Rabbits, Cage the Elephant, Matt and Kim, Manchester Orchestra, Empire of the Sun, Ida Maria, Riverboat Gamblers, Florence + the Machine.
and if you're going to put new bands of old musicians, where is the Dead Weather?
